Diane Jefferson teaches course 570 Foundations of Educational Measurement in the MSPE program. Diane received her Ph.D. in Leadership, Learning, and Service at Cardinal Stritch University with a focus on college student retention, her M.A. in Reading and Learning Disabilities from Cardinal Stritch, and her BA in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

She currently is a full-time faculty member at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) where she teaches in several areas of her certification: Adult Basic English, College Success, Early Childhood Education, Online Education Preparedness. There she has also taught faculty professional development courses and training sessions in several areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment. In addition, she served as Instructional Chair for the Adult Basic Skills department for two terms. She continues to present for local and national organizations in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Prior to joining the faculty at MATC, she experienced a wide range of educational roles throughout Milwaukee county. Her education career began as a basic skills instructor for the Professional Education Development Center for the United States Postal Service while working as a customer service supervisor. Later she joined Milwaukee Public schools. There she served as classroom teacher, reading teacher, and reading coordinator. Before joining MATC, she worked as an education supervisor for Milwaukee’s Head Start program. Diane has over 20 years of experience in the education profession.
