Emma has recently completed her second year of teaching special education and her time as a Teach for America Corps member. She is a 2022 UC Berkeley graduate who taught 6th grade special education in Denver, CO, and 5th grade special education in Oakland, CA. This year, Emma will transition to a 6th-8th grade learning specialist role, supporting students with IEPs in math.
Emma applied to the MSPE program to enhance her instructional toolkit and learn effective coaching strategies. She aims to foster greater collaboration between general and special education teachers and implement co-teaching models. With a background in cognitive science and a strong interest in educational neuroscience, Emma looks forward to expanding her knowledge in these areas.
