Emma began her undergraduate studies at UW–Madison as a Vocal Performance and Music Education double major, later shifting her focus to Art Education. Ultimately, after being encouraged to apply for the permanent position for the long-term substitute teaching job she had at her alma mater, Emma earned her English teaching license through the American Board Certification of Teacher Excellence and now teaches English 2 and English 3. MSPE is Emma‘s first graduate program. Emma is dedicated to her community and to providing them with both a Critical pedagogy and a welcoming space that affirms their humanity, informed by evidence, fueled by empathy.
