Haley has been a teacher for five years. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, majoring in Early Childhood Education and ESL. She completed her student teaching fully remotely during the fall of 2020 and began her teaching career in January 2021 with Milwaukee Public Schools. In the fall of 2022, Haley relocated to San Diego, where she currently teaches first and second grade English Language Arts at a private school.
What drew me to the MPSE program is its broad range of courses—from educational psychology to education policy to curriculum and instruction—which open up a variety of education-related career pathways. Seeing the disparities in American students’ educations going from MPS to a private school in San Diego has inspired me to want to make change in American education beyond the classroom one day. I feel that this program is a good place to start!
